I hope there’s something in here that sparks your imagination! I’m okay with everything from platonic friendship/fluff to PWP - whatever you’re best at or speaks to you the most. I’d rather have something that you found enjoyable and fun to create than be overly restrictive with my preferences.
SFW likes:
(Specific Prompts: WIP)
1. Chalion Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold [Any]
4. Enchanted Forest Chronicles [Any]
5. Twelve Houses [Any]
6. Innkeeper Chronicles [Any]
7. The Last Dragonlord [Any]
I have a special place in my heart for this series because the author is a very loose family friend, so I would be thrilled if someone else out there also liked it!
Something that really intrigued me while I was making the nominations was the idea of incorporating LGBT+ characters. What if the dragonsoul isn't the same gender as the humansoul? What if the binary is gone completely? I give you full permission to run with Shima or an unknown Dragonlord on that front; or honestly just give me anything more from this world.
8. Elemental Blessings
9. Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells [Any]
10. Wheel of Time [Any]
SFW likes:
- Awkward first dates, meet the family
- Humor and friendship, especially female friendship
- Arranged/accidental marriage / fake relationship leading to genuine companionship
- Mutual UST/pining that leads to friends using clue by fours to get them together, already
- Relationship evolution and building of trust
- Starting off as casual and catching feelings
- Nerds being nerdy together
- “It’s a bad idea for us to be together” angst that eventually gets worked out
- Alternate history / "what if” / Everyone Lives AUs
- Outsider POV
- Post-canon / “what happens next?”
- Bondage -- any and all forms!
- Dominance/submission -- In the sense of 'play' during consensual sex and not any kind of formalized 24/7 agreement.
- Kink negotiation/experimentation
- Enthusiastic consent and dirty talk
- Voice kink
DNWs:
- Watersports/Scat
- Humiliation
- A/B/O dynamics and other non-traditional reproductive biology (mpreg, etc)
- Modern/Mundane AUs
- Necrophilia
- Infidelity/cheating
- Daddy/mommy kink
- Non-canonical major character deaths
(Specific Prompts: WIP)
1. Chalion Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold [Any]
- Solo: Foix dy Gura
- Foix has to deal with a lot in Paladin of Souls and beyond - what does it feel like to have a not-quite aware demon sharing your body with you? How does he deal with being Ista's new court sorcerer? Does he manage to make things work with Liss? How is his relationship with his brother?
- Solo: Ijada dy Castos
- I'd love to see a bit more from her before The Hallowed Hunt starts, since that was such a transformative period for her. Or just some of the book from her perspective, since Ingrey can be a lot at times.
- Solo: Ingrey kin Wolfcliff
- Ingrey just needs to be happy. Give him some happy with Ijada after the book is over. Or more adventures with the ice bear and the southerners, they were really interesting!
- Illvin dy Arbanos/Ista dy Chalion
- Give me their happy ever after. Give me a million babies and being trusted advisors to the new ruler.
- WB: Demons (Chalion Saga)
- There is so much potential here, especially from a demon POV. The evolution of being progressively more intelligent animals, up to humans; then possessing different humans and gaining more of a sense of self. They jump to the strongest person when their rider dies, but as we know there's an element of choosing and things can go awry; what does that feel like from the demon's perspective? An original demon would be great, or one that we've seen but not really gotten to know.
- WB: Ibra (Chalion Saga)
- We don't get to see much of Ibra except in The Curse of Chalion and it's ripe for exploration! How do things reconcile with South Ibra after the book; how do they take the integration into Chalion and what do they think of their new Royina?
- Iselle dy Chalion/Bergon dy Ibra
- They have their work cut out for them; something juicy with integrating their two kingdoms would be great -- but also some relationship fluff where they get to just be together. Or anything building more of their relationship, really.
- WB: Saints (Chalion Saga)
- I'd love to see more with the petty saints of varying gods, it seems like there's a lot of ways in which they could help their favored humans. Especially a saint of the Daughter who's not under immense pressure to, y'know, save the world!
- WB: Spirit Warriors (Chalion Saga)
- I'd be interested to see more about how the Weald builds their spirit shaman 'program' between The Hallowed Hunt and the Desdemona and Penric series; what kind of people are drawn to the opportunity and how do they choose an animal?
- Desdemona & Penric kin Jurald
- These two are the living embodiment of "nice town you have there, it would be a shame if anything happened to it". I'd love to see more of their off-screen adventures between the different novellas; I only ask that you stay away from Penric's suicidal period.
- Agalar/Bettany
- Okay, Bright Thrones gave me all the feels for these two. I’m still frustrated that Bett couldn’t see what her sisters were doing, since she knows them so well, but I guess that’s Bett. Agalar is a much more interesting character after reading what he’s actually up to, and I’d be interested to see what happens to them after the novella. That’s a perfect set up for adventures and shenanigans. Does Bett ever try to contact her family, or does she just leave them behind entirely? Do they ever figure out what happened to her? Do they help Agalar’s mother?
- Jessamy/Kalliarkos
- Post-canon, how do they balance their relationship -- especially with Kal gone frequently? How do they deal with a family of their own, when the time comes?
- Jessamy/Kalliarkos/Ro-emnu
- There's a great deal of mutual respect between Kal and Ro, plus the obvious attraction between Jes and Ro, so I'd love to see the three of them come to some arrangement. A 'V' with Jes in the middle is fine, but a true triad is also fine!
- Maraya/Polodos
- I love how much of a history nerd Maraya is. I’d also be totally down for an alternate view of some things in the series, the things that Jes missed in her preoccupation with the Fives. How did she fall in love with Polodos? How did they manage things at the Least Hill inn for that brief time when it was prospering due to Ro-emnu’s help?
- Solo: Kiya
- What does she tell Safarenwe about her father when the girl is old enough? How does she balance her responsibilities to Efea with her duties as a mother? How does she deal with Wenru also being Lord Ottonor?
- Solo: Mis
- The glimpse of Mis’ family life we got was really neat, I’d love to see that explored a bit more. How do they react to her choices, her being part of the rebellion and then the army? Does she ever get over Dusty? Does Dusty stop being an idiot and realize how amazing Mis is?
- Captain Pete | Amphitrite & The Luidaeg
- I love that The Luidaeg actually has one sibling that cares for her, even if it is one of Titania's children. I'd love to see some outsider POV from the pair on the events of The Unkindest Tide or any of the books after that that feature Captain Pete; or rip my heart out with the distant past and the fate of the Roane.
- Dean Lorden/Quentin Sollys
- Ugh, these two. So sweet together, even if their relationship is doomed to end. I'll take anything with them -- a tender moment when things are quiet; being cute while they hang out with their friends; or attempting to process the end of The Innocent Sleep.
- Dianda Lorden & The Luidaeg
- Dianda probably never expected to be on as good terms with the sea witch as she is. How does her view of the Luidaeg change over the years, through exposure to Toby and all the related shenanigans?
- Dianda Lorden/Patrick Lorden/Simon Lorden | Simon Torquill
- UNDERSEA OT3. The glimpse we got of them actually being a proper threesome in Doubtless and Secure was tantalizing and I want more. More of Dianda and Simon coming to accept each other; more of Patrick and Simon finally getting to be together.
- The Luidaeg & Quentin Sollys
- Toby remarks more than once on how abnormal a relationship these two have since Quentin only ever sees her as helpful, not the scary witch you should never bargain with. I want to see the Luidaeg gradually coming to love Quentin when she doesn't want to; I want to see Quentin trying to explain her to his parents and them completely failing to understand. Anything where they're both worrying over Toby or just doing something together.
- October "Toby" Daye & Simon Lorden | Simon Torquill
- Toby and Simon have such a complicated relationship. I'd be interested to see what the early books look like from Simon's perspective, while she hated his guts and he still served Evening -- give me angst, complicated feelings, the works! Or anything in the more recent period, either before or after Titania's meddling, where they're trying to find their way to a real relationship.
- October "Toby" Daye & Sylvester Torquill
- Much like with his twin, things are suuuuper complicated with Sylvester and Toby. Early days where he's trying to protect her the only way he knows how; or the middle books when she's slipping away from him; or give me the reconciliation I really hope is actually coming our way!
- October "Toby" Daye & The Luidaeg
- How does the Luidaeg deal with all of the peril that Toby gets herself into, before she has a chance to bring back the Roane? How does she feel about Toby's future including her future child?
- Raj & Quentin Sollys
- Princely best friends!
- Simon Lorden | Simon Torquill & Sylvester Torquill
4. Enchanted Forest Chronicles [Any]
- Alianora & Cimorene
- Alianora/The Stone Prince
- I love that Alianora and Cimorene became friends, and I would read a whole book of their continued adventures.
- Cimorene & Kazul & Morwen
- Cimorene & Kazul (Enchanted Forest)
- Cimorene/Kazul
- Cimorene & Morwen (Enchanted Forest)
- Cimorene/Morwen (Enchanted Forest)
- I love the way the three of them work together and support each other. They have different tools at their disposal but they all make their own stamp on their respective areas without caring about what other people think. I'd be interested to see what it looks like for Cimorene to rule on her own, or just run off and learn magic with Morwen.
- Kazul & Shiara
- Solo: Shiara
- Daystar/Shiara (Enchanted Forest)
- I'd love anything with Shiara continuing to adjust to the idea of being the next Queen of the Enchanted Forest. It's a big jump for a fire witch who thought she had no control over her magic. What does she need to learn? How does she deal with her temper without sacrificing who she is?
- Solo: Morwen
- Morwen/Telemain (Enchanted Forest)
- Morwen and her cats is pretty much a win, and I'm just delighted by her relationship with Telemain. The fact that she understands him when very few other people can is a big clue that they're compatible. I'd like to see how the cats adjust to his permanent presence!
- Cimorene/Mendanbar (Enchanted Forest)
- Let them be happy together! Preference is for after the series but I'd be just as happy with something before the wizards mess everything up. (Stupid wizards.)
- Daystar & Mendanbar
5. Twelve Houses [Any]
- Karryn Fortunalt & Wen
- Ryne Coravann/Karryn Fortunalt
- Jasper Paladar/Wen
- I rather liked Wen's journey in "Fortune and Fate" where she finds her own place (almost like she's a mystic for the knack of being in the right place at the right time :P) and thought that Ryne and Karryn were well-suited by the end. I'd love to see more about life at Fortune, including Wen's role as big sister/aunt/general protective person to Karryn (who does need some structure to her life).
- Amalie/Cannon
- Kirra Danalustrous/Donnal (Twelve Houses)
- Ellynor/Justin
- Senneth Brassenthwaite/Tayse (Twelve Houses)
- I'd love to see more about these canon couples, especially Kirra and Donnal since they kind of get short shrift (in favor of Kirra's affair with Romar Brendyn). Post-canon is always welcome; but I'm also a sucker for Outsider POV for each others' romances.
- Solo: Senneth Brassenthwaite
- Senneth Brassenthwaite & Kirra Danalustrous
- Donnal/Justin
- WB: Lands beyond Gillengaria
- WB: Any (Twelve Houses)
- WB: Mystics
- It seems like there's basically no end to the kind of power that mystics can wield, so tell me more about what's possible! Feel free to use an epistolary format or whatever suits.
6. Innkeeper Chronicles [Any]
- Solo: Caldenia ka ret Magren
- Kosandion ka ret Maggran/Wexyn Dion-Dian
- Caldenia ka ret Magren & Kosandion ka ret Maggran
- I loved that Sweep of the Heart gave us more about Caldenia and why she's now a permanent guest of Gertrude Hunt. Her relationship with her brother was so complex, and it's almost remarkable that Kosandion understood and didn't blame her for what happened. I was also totally charmed by Lady Wexyn and would love to see a little bit more with her and Kosandion -- whether that's before, during, or after canon!
- Caldenia ka ret Magren & Orro
- Solo: Orro
- I'd love Outsider POV with these two, especially during One Fell Sweep/Sweep with Me while Sean and Dina try to figure themselves out. Orro is just a fantastic character and I love every visual that we get of him. Let him chew the scenery while he cooks. Let Caldenia egg him on.
- Dina Demille/Sean Evans
- It'd be great to have some Sean POV at any point during the series, especially before Sweep of the Heart. They make a great pairing; really complement each other -- so something post-canon would be great too!
- Solo: Hector Marais
- Officer Marais takes things rather in stride; I want to see more of what he was guessing about before he was read in to the secret -- or him trying to process afterwards. I was utterly charmed by reading the rather literal riot act to the Draziri and would easily read an entire fic of that!
- George Camarine/Sophie Mar
- I want to see Sophie deciding that she's had enough of chasing him and carve out a space for the pair of them (as relayed by Gaston during Sweep of the Heart). I want to see what she's actually like as a ruler; and I would love to see them somehow get back home for a visit.
- Ilemina & Maud Demille
- Maud Demille/Arland Krahr
- While I love everyone at Gertrude Hunt I have a special fondness for House Krahr, especially post-Sweep of the Blade with Maud and Arland as the ultimate badass Power Couple. Karat deserves some spotlight of her own; and I love the back-and forth she has with her father Soren. I want Maud to deal with her new mother-in-law and Preceptor, maybe intimidated at first but discovering they have more in common than not.
- Linden Rathan/Maurynna Kyrissaean
- Lleld Kemberaene & Maurynna Kyrissaean
- Lleld Kemberaene/Jekkanadar Surael
- Shima Ilyathan/His Soultwin
- Solo: Original Unknown Dragonlord
- Solo: Raven (The Last Dragonlord)
- Solo: Shima Ilyathan
- WB: LGBT+ Dragonlords
- WB: Any (The Last Dragonlord)
8. Elemental Blessings
- Jiramondi & Melissande (Elemental Blessings)
- They're so well matched, sexual orientation aside. I want to see more of how they navigate Melissande's home and the additional shenanigans during Whispering Wood.
- Zoe Ardelay Lalindar/Darien Serlast
- Power couple trying to clean up everyone else's messes, I am here for it!
- Foley/Josetta (Elemental Blessings)
- What Could Have Been; if Josetta had had stronger feelings for him; if Foley had not left with Corene.
9. Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells [Any]
- Bramble & Moon
- Celadon & Malachite & Moon
- Chime/Jade/Moon (Raksura)
- Consolation & Kethel (Books of the Raksura)
- Consolation & Shade (Raksura)
- Delin-Evran-lindel & Moon (Books of the Raksura)
- Ember & Moon (Raksura)
- Malachite & Moon (Books of the Raksura)
- Moon & Stone (Books of the Raksura)
- Rorra/Stone (Books of the Raksura)
10. Wheel of Time [Any]
- Solo: Egwene al'Vere
- Look, she's flawed, but I identified with her so hard during my initial read of the series, so just give me more of her being a clever badass.
- Solo: Siuan Sanche
- I'd love to see more of her being a skilled political player, since that's a little "informed" rather than shown during the series. She had to have become Amyrlin for a reason!
- Solo: Verin Mathwin
- VERIN. Talk about playing the long game. Anything with her trying to balance her oaths to the Shadow with her true desire to break the Black Ajah wide open.
- WB: Post-series Aiel
- I'm definitely in favor of being able to change Aviendha's visions, and I do think they were heading that way based on their inclusion in the Dragon's Peace. I'd love to see how they work as international enforcers and mediators!
- Bain/Chiad/Gaul (Wheel of Time)
- A top quality OT3. I'm open to the idea of Bain and Chiad being a couple, and first-sisters was the way they could stay together. Mostly I just want to see them all be happy.
- Mat Cauthon/Birgitte Silverbow
- I absolutely adored the scene where they're speaking in the Old Tongue without Mat realizing it, and I love how Birgitte sticks up for Mat to the girls (because they weren't giving Mat his due). Mat's not ugly, but maybe Birgitte makes an exception for him.
- Moiraine Damodred/Siuan Sanche
- Please, please give me some actual Siuan/Moiraine relationship content. During or post-New Spring, or an AU where they never broke up because damn they had such a strong bond in their early years.
- Nynaeve al'Meara/Lan Mandragoran
- Nynaeve is forever My Girl. Let her be her badass self as Queen of Malkier after everything is over; or just give the pair of them a little more time together after they reunite in ACoS but before he heads off in KoD. Since we don't get a Lan POV until the later books, maybe something in the early ones about how he falls in love with her and how he struggles to choose between his best friend and his love.
- Rand al'Thor & Galad Damodred
- After all of Gawyn's much-discussed bullshit hatred of Rand, it was almost refreshing to have Galad's response to learning Rand was his half brother being acceptance and almost protectiveness, with the way he declared himself to Demandred. I would love to sneak in a moment where these two get to explore that connection, where Galad learns about what happened to Tigraine and why she left.
- Rand al'Thor & Perrin Aybara & Mat Cauthon
- Give me more Ta'veren Trio adventures. Naive boys before the series starts. Trying to cope with all the new shenanigans. A proper reunion right before the Last Battle. Mat and Perrin talk afterwards and hey there's this weird black haired guy lurking what's up with that.
- Perrin Aybara/Faile Bashere
- They were so cute in the beginning and then it kind of went wrong before going right again. How do they adjust to becoming the rules of Saldaea on top of their duties in the Two Rivers?
- Aviendha/Elayne Trakand
- Egwene al'Vere/Aviendha
- Rand al'Thor/Mat Cauthon
- Rand al'Thor/Perrin Aybara
- This is my "sell me on this ship" section. I love all things WoT so I'm going to love this too. Write me the manifesto for this ship, or the story you've always wanted to read; or just run with your favorite tropes.
